Reported Outages in Northern Central Oregon

Update 1/27/17 – We have resolved the issues that were causing transmission problems on both Ch 27 as well as 21 in norther Redmon, Prineville, and Madras.

We are currently investigating signal outages/issues in northern Central Oregon.  The reports are in identifying Ch 27, which is a duplication of our Channel 21 services for the area.

We are hopeful that this will be resolved by mid-morning tomorrow 1/26/2017.

Hello – we live in NW Crossing and are no longer receiving KTVZ over the air – prior to the snow storms the signal has been strong for a long time. Our equipment is inside and not blocked by snow or ice unless snow on the roof may be an issue.

      Hello Gary,

Snow and ice on roofs could definitely be a cause of signal loss from indoor antennas. Another common problem we have noticed is if the antenna is a powered antenna or if there is an in-line power amplifier between the antenna and the television, the amplifier could be in a bad state or simply unplugged. If the amplifier is plugged in unplug it wait a few seconds and plug it back in. If your indoor antenna can be fairly easily moved try relocating the antenna close to a window that faces Awbrey butte. It is possible that the snow/ice build up is affecting the signal getting to you. Ice is particularly problematic.
