Update: Power Issues at Main Transmitter Site

This morning and this afternoon we experienced several short outages due to a blown fuses in the main transmitter building located on Awbrey Butte. We have been working with our electricians and Pacific Power all day to find the issue.

Now that we have identified the faulty equipment we are planning an over night installation on Monday the 29th. We are still gathering all of the equipment we need to fix the problem. We will have to do the repairs over night because Pacific Power will be required to completely disconnect the power to the building.

In the meantime we have plenty of fuses to get us thru the next 24 hours. However, in the event that we lose another fuse there will be a short outage while the building switches over to the backup generator and then another once the fuse has been replaced and we go back to main power.

We are doing every thing possible to minimize down time, but until we get all the equipment we need to fix the problem permanently, more outages are possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we thank you for your patience.

As of right now we are back on the air. If you are still having trouble receiving the signal please attempt to rescan your TV or converter box. If you continue to have issues please e-mail us at engineering@ktvz.com.
