We will be building a new more powerful transmitter for Channel 39.1 KFXO Fox Central Oregon. The new transmitter should be built, installed, and on the air by the first week of December 2010.
The new transmitter is almost 4 times as powerful as the current Channel 39.1 transmitter. This increase in power will produce a better signal for those who can already receive it and a new service for those who have never been able to receive KFXO over the air.
The transmitter will be located on Awbrey Butte in Bend, OR. If you currently receive KTVZ News Channel 21 over the air you should be able to pick up KFXO once we switch over to the new transmitter. In order to receive the service you will need to rescan your TV tuner or converter box.
As part of this transition, Analog Channel 39 will be shut down for good. Those viewers who still haven’t purchased a DTV converter box for their older model analog TVs will need to do so as soon as possible.
